Could be powered by a V8 5.5-liter twin-turbo

Our spies have sent us a new batch of photos with the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG conducting testing at the Nürburgring in Germany.

Unfortunately the car was wearing a heavy amount of camouflage so we can't say much about its design. However, back in April we posted several pics of an undisguised regular C-Class so it's not that hard to imagine how it would look with an AMG-specific body kit. In other words, expect beefy bumpers and wheel arches, bigger side skirts, larger air vents and a quad exhaust system.

Under the hood it will probably have a twin-turbo V8 5.5-liter borrowed from the E63 AMG but toned down to around 525 bhp (391 kW) so that it won't step on its larger brother’s toes which has 550 bhp (410 kW) in the standard E63 AMG and 577 bhp (430 kW) in the 4MATIC S-Model.

As a side note, our sources have informed us that smoke started to come out from the prototype after lapping the circuit for three times.

Definitely not the twin turbo 5.5, its too heavy. This is a brand new car that is much lighter, not a facelift, the rumours of a 4.0 twin turbo is more likely
