Will be introduced on September 8th

Audi has announced plans to introduce the 2014 A3 Cabriolet on September 8th, ahead of its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The company declined to release pictures but said the model will be a compact four-seater that "captivates with its flowing lines and soft top." Audi also confirmed it will have new engines, improved versatility and high-performance assistance systems.

Engine options will likely be shared with the standard model so choices could include a 1.4-liter TFSI with 140 HP (103 kW), a 1.8-liter TFSI with 180 HP (132 kW) and a 2.0-liter TDI with outputs 150 HP (110 kW) and 184 HP (135 kW). The company could also offer an S3 Cabrio with 300 HP (221 kW) but nothing is official as of yet.

Would be kinda cool if they renamed existing the 3 door, 5 door (Sportback) and sedan 'A2' and made the A3 range a Coupe and Convertible.

that would make sense but that would mean the A1 would be relegated to A0 since it's Audi we are tallking about and they will want to create an A1 coupe...then that'll leave the -A1 for their city car sized premium car they'd want to create :)
