Hungarian qualifying session ends with last-minute pole change [results]
Pole for Lewis Hamilton (GBR) Mercedes AMG F1, 2nd Sebastian Vettel (GER) Red Bull Racing and 3rd Romain Grosjean (FRA) Lotus F1 E21 27.07.2013. / XPB

Fourth pole for Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton was the fastest driver in today's qualifying session for the 2013 Hungarian Grand Prix.

When Sebastian Vettel completed his first flying lap in the third part of the qualifying session he was 0.8 seconds quicker than the rest of the drivers so everyone expected he will win pole position. However, in the end he had to settle for second place as Lewis Hamilton was extremely fast in his last attempt to claim pole, which he did with a lap in 1 minute and 19.388s. Vettel will start from second place after being 0.038s slower.

Row two on Hungaroring will be occupied at tomorrow's race by Romain Grosjean who grabbed third place, ahead of Hamilton's teammate Nico Rosberg. Ferrari had yet another average qualifying session as Fernando Alonso came only in fifth, while Felipe Massa took seventh place. Kimi Raikkonen intercalated between the two Ferraris so we should expect to see an interesting start.

Raikkonen's rival for the 2014 Red Bull seat is Daniel Ricciardo who managed an impressive eight place in his Toro Rosso, ahead of Sergio Perez who decided to remain on medium tires and achieved ninth. Due to KERS issues, Mark Webber chose not to run in Q3 which means he will start from tenth place.
