Porsche and Toyota are rarely mentioned in the same breath, but today they've both announced production milestones.
First up, Porsche confirmed the 500,000th Cayenne has rolled off the assembly line in Leipzig, Germany. The model was a white Cayenne S Diesel which features a twin-turbo 4.2-liter V8 engine that develops 382 HP (281 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 261 km/h (162 mph).
Toyota, on the other hand, is celebrating the construction of their three millionth Prius. The company didn't have much to say about the car but confirmed they have "positioned hybrid technology as a core technology required for the development of various types of environment-friendly vehicles." Toyota also said they will continue to invest in "environmental technology development as well as on strengthening new platform and major component development."
