Rumors suggested the Dacia Sandero

It seems Top Gear’s new reasonably priced car for series 20 is the Vauxhall Astra.

From 2002 to 2005 Top Gear's reasonably priced car was the Suzuki Liana, followed from 2006 to 2010 by the Chevrolet Lacetti. It was then replaced by the Kia cee'd which now has been retired to make room for the Vauxhall Astra. At least that's what a reddit.com says after taking a few photos during the filming of the first series 20 episode which will air on Sunday.

It appears as if James May's passion for the Dacia Sandero wasn't strong enough for the Romanian hatchback to become Top Gear's new reasonably priced car. Maybe next time.

Some details about the first episode can be found at the source link below.

Top Gear change their RPC when that model is changed. But the Astra is due a change in the next year or two? That's going to be the shortest power lap board yet!

Vauxhall Astra +13000£ ... Kia Ceed +13500£ ... Citroen C4 +14000£ ... Peugeot 308 +13200£ ... Skoda Rapid +12900 ... It's not the cheapest, and sure as hell is not best quality ...All other competitors retail for more than 14500£ and are out of discusion, but under 1000£ they should be considered....And not to mention the Dacia. If the Astra is resonable, The Dacia is right out "bargain priced car"

ahahahahahahahahahahaha......Vauxhall Astr is RESONABLY PRICED?? Please give us some prices. Also, please insert prices for the new Kia Ceed (as it was the former resonably priced car in it's previous generation) How in the world did they get that expensive car to be called resonably. But hey, it's british, let's protect our brands, right TG??? ROFLMAO

actually Astra comes from Poland (Gliwice plant) so just a brand (and not very valuable one to be honest) is british but I agree with you. I'ts 'overpriced car'.

you are right, I was wrong about Ellesmere, Gliwice will remain only continental Europe Astra plant (Russelsheim will produce Zafiras)

I think they should replace it with a classic car like an old mini or golf GTI so they don't have to change it all the time and lose the leader board
