The 2014 MINI Cooper S has been spied yet again ahead of a possible reveal in September at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
These latest spy shots were made at the Nürburgring with a prototype showing the second-gen MINI will be significantly longer and wider than the outgoing model. It will also come with a smaller front grille, slimmer A-pillars and a longer hood. As you can see, this particular prototype has the hood scoop seen on the "S" versions of the MINI. The interior cabin is set for a major change as the center-mounted speedometer will be removed in favor a more traditional instrument cluster.
Powering the 2014 MINI Cooper S will most likely be a new 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine outputting somewhere in the region of 178 bhp (132 kW). The same mill will be installed in the JCW version where it will churn about 217 bhp (162 kW).
