Slowly moving upmarket

Tata Motors has unveiled an updated Nano that promises to deliver "more awesomeness" than ever before.

Modestly revised, the updated model is distinguished by chrome trim and a new rear bumper with sporty mesh inserts. The car can also be equipped with four personalization kits that add things like a contrasting roof, body side graphics, unique alloy wheels and an aerodynamic body kit.

Interior changes are limited but include a new center console, a twin glovebox, updated upholstery and "luxurious" beige surfaces. New options include keyless entry, metallic or body-color accents and a four-speaker AmphiStream audio system with Bluetooth/USB/AUX connectivity.

Under the hood, two different engines are available. The 624cc petrol develops 38 HP (28 kW) and 51 Nm (38 lb-ft) of torque, while the new 624 cc bi-fuel engine develops 33 HP (24 kW) and 45 Nm (33 lb-ft) of torque when running on compressed natural gas.

The 2014 Tata Nano will go on sale next month and pricing starts at 1.50 lakhs ($2,555 / €1,905 / £1,630).

Tata Nano: More ‘Awesomeness’ Than Ever

? Four-speaker AmphiStream music system with Bluetooth™ connectivity
? More convenient with remote keyless entry and dual glove boxes
? Stylish, refreshed interiors and new exterior colours
? Rocking new personalisation kits
? Best-in-class air-conditioning
? India’s most fuel-efficient petrol car at 25.4 kmpl

Tata Motors today announced the introduction of an array of new features available on the Tata Nano,
including remote keyless entry, twin glove boxes, and a four-speaker AmphiStream™ music system with
Bluetooth™, USB and auxiliary connectivity. Thanks to a stylish and refreshed interior, handsome new
exterior colors, and chrome exterior accents, Tata Nano’s big personality has been made even bigger.
Revised steering means Tata Nano is nimbler than ever, and at 25.4 kmpl, astoundingly economical and
still India’s most fuel efficient petrol car. New for 2013 are the fresh and stylish Nano Personalisation
Kits, enabling owners to customize their Nano with one of four unique identities: Jet, Alpha, Remix, and

Peach. The car will be available in dealerships by July 2013.
Inside, new trendy and luxurious beige surfaces and fabric upholstery (available on Nano LX) create a
tasteful, contemporary atmosphere, while sporty black interiors (available on Nano CX and Dazzle Blue
Nano LX) complement the interior’s modern, clean design. Space inside the Nano, as always, is at a
premium, with the most headroom, legroom, and passenger space in its class. Handsome twin integral
glove boxes upfront and a handy rear parcel shelf behind provide exceptional and convenient utility for
all those errant knicks and knacks, while an impressive 80 litres of boot space (with rear seats up; 500
litres with rear seats folded) takes care of the rest. A best-in-class air conditioning system keeps the
cabin cool and comfortable on even the hottest days.

And now, Tata Nano shows its technological side in a big way. An ergonomic, completely restyled center

console brings a cockpit-like feel for front seat occupants, along with a power socket outlet to keep you
plugged-in and connected – whether you are between appointments, or between cities. The
AmphiStream music system pairs effortlessly over Bluetooth™ and auxiliary input to your smartphone or
music player, filling the cabin with crisp, clear sound through four speakers, each surrounded by a
stylish silver metallic (Nano LX) or body-color-matching bezel (Nano CX and Dazzle Blue Nano LX). A
remote keyless entry system (available on Nano LX) brings owners the power of speed and
convenience – no more fumbling with keys in the dark or the rain!

Outside, stylish chrome accents add sophistication and enhance the front and rear fascias, while sporty
mesh bumper inserts add substance and definition to the rear profile of the car; three new exterior colors
(Dazzle Blue, Royal Gold, and Cornflower Blue) keep things fun and lively.

Four stylish personalisation kits unleash the full potential of Tata Nano’s individuality. Each offers its own
unique identity and exclusive badging, bringing smart, bespoke-levels of individualization to match those
of their trend-setting owners. With optional graphite or body-colored alloy wheels, a black contrast roof,

style and sports-themed body kits, and exclusive side decals and bonnet stripes, “Jet,” “Remix,” “Alpha,”
and “Peach” are bold, fresh, and unmistakably Tata Nano.

The small-and-mighty 624cc engine delivers a stout 38PS of power and 51Nm of torque. Fuel efficiency
remains the highest among petrol vehicles at 25.4 kmpl as certified by the Automotive Research
Association of India (ARAI). The high fuel efficiency, with a low kerb weight of 600 kg, ensures that the
Tata Nano at 93.5 gm / km has the lowest CO2 emission among cars in India. With a top speed of 105
km and ability to negotiate inclines with a gradeability of 30%, and a class-leading turning radius of just 4
metres, the Tata Nano is a perfect combination of power and performance.

The ride and handling, already highly appreciated by existing owners, features an advanced
independent front suspension setup with an antiroll bar, gas-filled dampers and McPherson struts, along
with a revised Easy Steer steering mechanism with a larger diameter steering (in CX and LX trims) to
make city maneuverability effortless. A 180mm ride-height rivals that of SUVs, and provides superior
drivability when the going gets tough. Aiding safety are intelligently designed crumple zones, boosterassisted 180mm drum-brakes all four wheels, and ORVM on both driver and co-driver sides --- bodycolor matching, of course (available on Nano LX).

With 31 design and 37 technology patents, Tata Nano’s sophistication and charm can be felt inside and  out.
The Tata Nano is available in three trim levels:  Tata Nano LX: The top-end Nano variant comes jam-packed with features like trendy beige or sporty
black fabric seats and dashboard tones, a best-in-class air conditioning system, twin integral
gloveboxes, a four-speaker AmphiStream music system with Bluetooth™ and auxiliary connectivity,
front power windows, a restyled center console with 12V charging socket, remote keyless entry/locking,
central locking, electronic trip meter, rear parcel shelf, cup holder in front console, fog lamps, body
coloured bumpers, rear spoiler, full wheel covers and tip-tap mirrors on driver and passenger side and
booster-assisted brakes. Nano LX comes in six premium colours: Dazzle Blue (new), Papaya Orange,
Royal Gold (new), Mojito Green, Meteor Silver and Pearl White.

Tata Nano CX: The interiors have been refreshed with sporty black fabric seats, ebony black
dashboard tones, twin integral gloveboxes with speaker grilles, a provisional 12V charging socket outlet,
a best-in-class air-conditioning system, rear parcel shelf, booster-assisted brakes, tip-tap mirrors on
driver and passenger side and half wheel covers. Nano CX comes in six gorgeous colour options: Royal
Gold (new), Papaya Orange, Rouge Red, Cornflower Blue (new), Meteor Silver, and Serene White.

offered in three handsome colour options: Rouge Red, Serene White and Cornflower Blue (new).
The Tata Nano range starts from Rs. 1.50 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). All the variants come with
an unmatched warranty of 4 years or 60,000 kms, whichever is earlier.
