Chances don't look good

Acura is reportedly considering an entry-level crossover that would slot beneath the RDX.

Envisioned to battle the BMW X1 and Buick Encore, the crossover could be similar to the production version of the SUV-X concept that recently debuted at the Shanghai Motor Show.

Despite confirming the model was under consideration, American Honda's senior vice president of automobile operations told Ward's Auto there's no need for an entry-level crossover because "right now we feel, with the RDX and the MDX, that we have this one-two punch."

Mike Accavitti went on to say Lexus only offers one crossover and neither the BMW X3 or X5 "are very strong."
