Fast and Furious 6 crew surprised by car prices in Singapore [video]

Toyota Prius costs 154,000 USD

A few of the Fast and Furious 6 stars were very surprised once they found out how much cars cost in Singapore.

Vin Diesel is the most shocked after hearing that a Toyota Prius costs no less than 154,000 USD. Michelle Rodriguez has a similar reaction once she discovers a BMW 6-Series Coupe (engine not mentioned) costs 330,000 USD, while Luke Evans is very surprised upon hearing that a Honda Accord sedan powered by a 2.4-liter engine is 130,000 USD.

Based on what the video tells us, cars in Singapore cost that much because there are high taxes for discouraging people to buy cars in order to free up traffic. As a side note, Singapore is known to have one of the best public transportation systems in the entire world.

I think the Singaporean interviewer got it wrong of car price at his own country... After checking with Toyota Singapore, price is correct but in Singapore dollar... Not USD... For example; price for Prius is about SGD 160K - SGD 20K rebate = SGD 140K - 150K... Just in case, here is the link: www.borneomotors.com.sg/asp/ToyotaPriceListPassenger.aspx

Looks like the government of Singapore has chosen the easiest and the most stupid way to solve the traffic problem. They should solve the heavy load of traffic by improving public transportation systems, expanding roads and highways, etc., not by taking high taxes to discouraging people to buy cars.

Singapour... Also known for being the world bestestest fiscal paradise home of the shaddiest operations of megacorporations. But on the good side with the number of foreign traders there, cocaine is easier to find than safe tap water...
