Hyundai Genesis Coupe previewed for Pikes Peak [videos]

Will produce more than 900 bhp (671 kW)

Hyundai has released a handful of videos that preview the Genesis Coupe that will compete in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

Set to enter the Unlimited Class, the Genesis Coupe is being billed as the "fastest, more powerful Hyundai racer ever."

Little is known about the car, but Rhys Millen says it will have a dramatically lowered composite body with exaggerated lines and a massive rear wing. It will ride on a Crawford Race Cars chassis and use titanium and carbon fiber components to ensure it is 1,000 lbs (453 kg) lighter than last year's Genesis Coupe.

Power will be provided by a turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine that shares 90% of its components will the production mill. While the standard engine only develops 348 bhp (259 kW) and 295 lb-ft (399 Nm) of torque, Millen says the race-prep unit will produce more than 900 bhp (671 kW) and 800 lb-ft (1083 Nm) of torque.
