Most likely to receive P13 moniker

An insider has told Autocar that Honda isn’t involved in the development of McLaren’s upcoming entry-level model programmed for a 2015 launch.

Motor Trend said last week that Honda could provide the engine for McLaren’s new model, taking into account the F1 collaboration between the two parties from 2015. However, this won't happen according to a McLaren insider who said "at the moment there is no anticipated impact on the road car division as a result of the Honda deal."

While "at the moment" leaves some room for speculations, chances are the P13 won't be powered by a Honda engine. Instead, it will likely use McLaren's V8 3.8-liter but detuned to output around 450 bhp (335 kW).

Some will consider this as good news since Honda can fully focus on the NSX revival due in 2015.

What if it's the other way around? Honda NSX using McLaren's 3.8L turbo plus the hybrid system?

Rumors? Do you know anything about the history of those rumors? Apparently not F-1 expert. You're too busy admiring and judging a car by its price tag and its exterior design rather than understanding anything about its companies racing pedigre/history (or in Lamborghini's case a lack thereof), or its performance on a race track. Typical Lambo fan. Too bad the Aventador gets owned by just about every high performance car out there on a race track. I'd take a Honda racing motor over a Lamborghini... oops, oh, that's right lambo does make racing motors just overrated show cars. Question: From 88-92' which companies dominated F-1? Answer: You don't have to look far, but just fyi -- it wasn't anything powered by Lamborghini's undependable and overpriced, superficial piece of garbage. But hey, at least VW

@lambocop - Lamborghini is owned by Volkswagen. The 5.2 engine in the Gallardo is closely engineered to the Audi S6 in detuned form. Mercedes is consulting Ford on 3-cyl engines. Yamaha used to make the engine for the Ford Taurus SHO. Fortunately, engines are judged by engineering accomplishments, rather than by brand names. You would be surprised who shares engines with who.

listen kid..i will come down yo your level of thinking and reply...MB consulting Ford about the 3cyl engine to manufacture CHEAP cars..not to put it in its super cars...Audi is a well established car company with a deep history of great cars and exceptional engines...Audi alone has technology, achievements, expertise in engine technology that all your japanses so called "car company" have all together...when u get out of tokyo and see the world you will see what your japanese technology is real worth..you are just a group of copy cats who have no shame of stealing tech and designs from the U.S. and europe....

Wow. What an amazing immunity to new facts and information. You just keep on worshipping what little you know don't you? Did you even bother to read the article (above) or keep informed on current automotive news, or dare I say educate past accomplishments ( I even made it easy for you)? Listen: NOTHING IS RUMOR HERE! If you had paid attention or were able to comprehend the above you would know that Honda has built engines for McLaren before and will do so in the future; that's not rumor or up for you to debate! Together, they won 4 consecutive formula 1 championships. Speculation -- not "rumor" -- occured when this future collaboration was announced. Simple as that. And you need not worry about that "300k Celica" because Chevy, Nissan, and dodge, to name a few, all make cars that out perform anything Lamborghini makes. Did you "LOL" too, when a sub-100k gtr embarrassed your might Aventador on the track?
