Should appeal to growing families

Our spies have already caught the BMW 1-Series GT on numerous occasions and now they have managed to snap pictures of a larger variant that could seat up to seven people.

Dressed in swirly camouflage, the prototype is noticeably larger than the standard model as it features an extended wheelbase and longer rear doors which should ease access to the rumored third row seats. While the camouflage makes it hard to see what the model will look like, the production variant will likely borrow a number of cues from the Concept Active Tourer that debuted at last year's Paris Motor Show.

Engine options remain unconfirmed, but the model is expected to be offered with the new 1.5-liter TwinPower Turbo three-cylinder. BMW has previously confirmed the petrol units will have outputs ranging from 122-224 HP (90-165 kW), while the diesel will produce between 82-184 HP (60-135 kW).

Why…Oh why would this happen. For the love of mankind please stop this from being true. For a company that can make something as beautiful as the current 5 series how can this abortion be an even partial reality?
