Volkswagen has revealed plans to introduce at Worthersee the Amarok R-Style Concept.

Envisioned as a sportier variant of the Amarok, the concept packs a V6 3.0-liter TDI delivering 272 HP (200 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. Connected to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, the Amarok R-Style will reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in only 7.9 seconds.

It sits on 22-inch alloys shod in 295/35 performance tires and has been fitted with 60mm wider fenders to make room for the larger rims. Other changes include carbon diffuser, three big air intakes below the front bumper, sill extensions with integrated carbon plates, as well as two chromed tailpipes at the back.

Inside it has received the GTI treatment with a black/red/white color theme, race bucket seats, sport steering wheel, along with an eight-inch touchscreen, 500w subwoofer and a carbon fiber dashboard.

It boggles my mind that VW has not released some sort of pickup for the US market, especially considering the kind of sales volumes they hope to achieve in the next few years.

I personally think if they use the 4-door version, it would look even better than this.
