Arriving on May 15

Several interior photos with the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class are now available, together with additional details before the car’s debut scheduled for May 15.

Mercedes-Benz already published a few darkened photos with the interior of the new S-Class, but now courtesy of AutoBild.de we take a better look at the luxurious interior. Judging by these photos, the model seen here is the long wheelbase version (not Pullman).

A Worldscoop.forumpro.fr member indicates it will go on order on July 20 and will be available in three versions: S350 Bluetec with 258 bhp (192 kW), S400 Hybrid with 326 bhp (243 kW) and S500 with 435 bhp (324 kW). Later on the S500 will be offered in a 455 bhp (339 kW) version, together with a plug-in hybrid S500 providing 355 bhp (265 kW).

The S63 AMG is set to receive 571 bhp (426 kW), followed by the S63 AMG 4MATIC with 585 bhp (436 kW) and the range-topping S65 AMG V12 Biturbo rated at 650 bhp (485 kW) due in 2015. An S250 Diesel has not been confirmed for the moment.

The long-wheel base version is rumored to measure between 5.45 meters and 5.50 meters, and will be followed in 2015 by the Maybach-replacing Pullman variant which needless to say will be even longer. Interestingly, a four-door coupe is allegedly scheduled to arrive in 2016. There will also be the already known coupe and cabrio variants.

Take all these details with a pinch of salt but at least the photos are the real deal. The official unveiling will take place on May 15 in Hamburg, Germany.

Everybody is doing their best to comment in a politically correct fashion in order not to upset other forum members, but the fact is that this interior is rubbish. It is a symptom of an underlying general problem with Mercedes.

I think everybody is doing their best to comment politically so as to not upset other forum members but this interior is horrible. I think it is a symptom of an underlying general problem with Mercedes.

I think everybody is doing their best being very political so as to not upset other forum members. But this is plain rubbish and it is a symptom of the underlying problem with Mercedes. This is unacceptable nonsense.

i find it, personally, the amount of chrome and details is just a bit too much making the whole seem kinda busy and sending a contrary message as owner sits in to enjoy comfortness not just physically but also optically, if that makes sense. oh well, it's polished inside and out and still a great vehicle overall, some might like it, some dont and thats okay, everyone's got different taste

The interior design is like an interior of a Rolls Royce. Looks very luxurious. Wait untill you see the official photos.

The interior is just to busy looking, it's a mess of buttons and different finishes. I can see the elegant classic look they were going for but then it looks like it's stuffed gadgets and buttons all held together with chrome, mat silver, wood, leather, and gloss black. I thought the luxury brands were trying to seamlessly integrate the technology so interiors could be free of clutter and restore elegant simplicity? I think they went way overboard and may have just ruined it.

And if you look they can't recline all the way without moving the front seat ridiculously far forward.

Unfortunately I see this interior doesn't satisfy many of us. I feel the same way, it is clear that they have spent a lot of effort into it, but ended up being "too" much of details and stuff. The general styling should have been more modern like that of BMWs. Cause I like BMW interiors a lot. I'm a Mercedes fan but I just wish they did a better job with the interior of this special vehicle.
