SUV arriving in 2014

DC Design has announced plans of building a new facility in India where they will produce the Avanti.

Company founder Dilip Chhabria told Economic Times of India a new manufacturing plant will be established next year in Sanand, Ahmedabad district in Gujarat state, India which will have an annual production capacity of 3,500 cars. 1,000 units will be current DC Design models while the other 2,500 will be the Avanti or a new SUV which will be unveiled sometime in 2014.

As a reminder, the aluminum-bodied Avanti is powered by a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine delivering 265 bhp (197 kW) which should be enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in less than 7 seconds. Chhabria estimates a price tag of 25-30 lakh rupees (approximately 46,000 USD - 55,000 USD).
