2014 BMW M6 lineup also getting Competition Package - report
2012 BMW M6 Coupe 11.2.2012

No surprises here

Apparently the 2014 BMW M6 lineup (Coupe, Convertible, GranCoupe) will also be offered with a Competition Package.

Exactly a week ago we found out the 2014 M5 will be available with an optional Competition Package that will lift the output of the engine by 15 bhp (11 kW), resulting in a total power of 567 bhp (423 kW) from the V8 4.4-liter twin-turbo. The same recipe will be applied for the entire 2014 M6 family as the Coupe, Convertible and GranCoupe will benefit from the added horsepower and other tweaks.

Aside from the power hike, the 2014 M5 and M6s are about to get different alloys, updated sportier suspension setup, black exhaust tips and a more direct steering ratio. As a result, 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time will be slashed by 0.1s while the top speed will probably be electronically-capped to 190 mph (305 km/h).

I got no complaints...only drool. But I have to agree...the M6 could loose some weight...Just imagine what this Beauty can do if you take off another 100 to 150 Kgs...

Current M6 is too heavy. 100 Percent sure BMW will look to lower weight in the next iteration of the 6 series. Would love to see a worked version of the current M4 engine in the next M6. Please bring back the CSL name.

We don´t need more horsepower, we need less weight!!! Both models have weights of typical SUVs some years ago and this limits track performance...a BMW has to be lighter than competition. Today this is no longer the case...

They still handle way better than the competition. Would you prefer a Mercedes AMG over this? =)

When BMW made natural aspirated all the other car makers were "we have more torque" Now BMW has joined the turbo, compressor, supercharge world. Where is your torque and horse power.
