With 540 HP

These are the first spy shots with the upcoming BMW 6-Series GranCoupe prepared by Alpina.

After launching the 3-Series-based B3 and X3-based XD3 models in Geneva last month, Alpina is working on an upgrade program for the 6-Series GranCoupe which will be reportedly unveiled in September at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Apparently they will use a 650i which in its standard form delivers 450 HP (330 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque from its twin-turbo, 4.4-liter V8 engine. As you would expect, the engine will be tweaked and is rumored to deliver around 540 HP (397 kW).

A few styling changes will also be implemented, especially to the front of the car, along with a quad exhaust, new wheels and a rear spoiler. Various Alpina-styled interior tweaks are also planned.

EDIT: Forget my former comment, this looks nice. Don't expect anything groundbreaking though.

If I ever meet the guy who came with the idea to name this car a "Gran Coupe", I'll punch him in the face.

So true. If I owned one I couldnt call it that, I would feel a right plonker. That being said, I love Alpina's I would own one over the M6, the exclusivity and subtle nature of Alpina's appeals. But I am skint so...
