Reaching production later this year

Today we bring a fresh batch of spy photos with the BMW 4-Series Convertible, ahead of an official unveil slated sometime this year.

This prototype is wearing less camouflage than what we saw in previous pics, allowing us to take a closer look at the metal roof which is expected to be larger compared to what the outgoing 3-Series Convertible has. Previewed by the 4-Series Coupe Concept, the new 4-Series Convertible is set to receive ventilated front fenders, sporty front fascia and modified headlights.

Engine lineup will most likely be carried over from the 3-Series Convertible which means BMW will offer the new model with several versions of the 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo engine with up to 245 HP (180 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm), along with an inline-six, 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo producing 306 HP (225 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm).

The BMW 4-Series Convertible (F33) will reportedly enter production in Regensburg this November and will be available upon launch as 428i and 435i models.

Agreed. Im BMW's biggest critic and this does not look very appealing with the top up. It looks akward

The 3 litre 306 bhp engine is in need for upgrade now, the S4 has been pumping out 333 bhp and you have the Z4 35iS with 335 bhp. The engine needs at least 360 bhp. The other thing is the fuel efficiency - I used to own a 335i SE Coupe, I would be doing well if I got over 300 miles out of a full tank.
