BMW and MB are following Audi's style of marketing their cars because it works.

So every comment that questions or critisizes Mercedes design direction gets thumbs down? Here's another one, A class front design is a major disappointment and it would not get away with it if it wasn't a Mercedes. I keep the C class in my wish list so I hope they don't give it the A class freakness.

I hate this new sports style grille they have on the current C-class and now facelifted E-class. It takes away from the bold tradition and style of Mercedes-Benz and dilutes the brand. These new cars look nondescript and like they were styled by the Koreans. Mercedes not standing tall and proud any more. Maserati Ghibli - yeah baby! Now that's gonna give the E-class a run for its money.

The C-Class is back on that classic track of being the baby S-Class and follows in the footsteps of the A4/A8 duo. The huge limos look like small exec sedans and still sell - because they're HUGE, just the size and refinement does it, not styling.

You might really mean in the footsteps of the Mercedes W126 S-Class and the W201 190E (and the W124 E-Class for that matter). Audi didn't invent consistent design between models, they just make them all look the same.

Wtf is wrong with Mercedes? Why are they testing the car without camo? Same thing happened with the S class... It's interesting.

Publicity, and because some testing might be more effective with the airflow working over the car, without camo panels.

aggressive tbh, but not beautiful - people will probably look at it as a Benz, but not really a good looking car itself. it won't come out that bad anyway

I'm looking at this and the CLA and they both look equally shrunk, asymmetrical and not really distinguishable from one another.

Why does Benz change the design EVERY YEAR now. Benz is the new Honda/Acura. When design is done right, it doesn't need to be redesigned on a yearly basis. What happened to 6 year designs?

What do you mean? Its been 4 1/2 years since the design change. the update from last year was only a facelift. The S-class is taking more then 7 years for a new model.

It looks nice and I agree like a shrunken s class (no bad thing), but I cant help but feel that picture 4 looks like the back of a peugeot 308 cc

Looks like Merc has ruined the design of another model... Hopefully it will look better when officially unveiled.

Most makes have upswept headlights now to deemphasise the bonnet (hood) height that's now required for pedestrian safety requirements.

A-Class front + S-Class rear, two great designs combined, right?

From these long distance shots, it looks like a shrunken version of the next-gen S-Class.
