Model already a sales successor

The LaFerrari is proving to be a critical sales success as the company has revealed that more than 1,000 people have expressed interest in buying the bespoke supercar.

Recently unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, the LaFerrari has a 6.3-liter V12 engine that develops 800 HP (588 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. It is backed up by an electric motor which contributes an additional 163 HP (120 kW) and 199 lb-ft (270 Nm) of torque. This enables the model to have a combined maximum output of 963 HP (708 kW) which allows it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than three seconds, 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) in under seven seconds and 0-300 km/h (186 mph) in 15 seconds. With enough roadway available, the LaFerrari will eventually top out in excess of 350 km/h (217 mph).

Production is limited to 499 units, so a number of consumers will be denied their chance of owning the 1.3M EUR (1.11M GBP or 1.69M USD) supercar.

LaFerrari: passion, technology, futuristic design and exclusivity

If Ferrari brings out a bird cage or a mailbox, people would be "interested". The name alone, LaFerrari has every black chicken hawk mentoring a stable full of young underage girls wanting one, blinged out with teef on 27" wheels.

With all those people intrested in the LaFerrari, then sure the second hand ones could be 50% more of its original price.

If you have the means to buy one AND you are on that very short ,very coveted list to be invited to buy it (only well established Ferrari collectors with a proven record of their loyalty to brand need apply)then it's no brainer. You get the hottest car in the World and it is worth double what the MSRP is, on the open market. Enzo cost astonishing (back then) $563k back in 2003 only to jump to $1.5mln for used cars. Better then Apple stock......

When i was young, I saw the F40, i said wow, it was the fist time i see it on street. Ferrari used to fascinate me but not anymore, most of the new generation models are not so good as they used to be,i think it is Lamborghini era.

I don't know about you, but that greenhouse is probably the most advanced thing on an automobile on the planet today. For the artist; the whole design is a textbook example of continuity and proportion. Some cars are worth a million, and I think this is one of the few.

You must be joking. Lambo with the 10 year old, outdated, outclassed Gallardo? Already outdated, too heavy Aventador?? Idiotic, overpriced rebodied Aventador as all new Veneno???

I don't agree with you. You can't compare the tecnology of laferrari with the tecnology of lambo. If instead we talk about design for me Ferrari's and lambo's are beautiful, but differently. At the end i believe that today is more daring for buider to fascinate customers.

I find this ironic because this car very ugly comparing to Ferrari's previous designs in the past. But at least their investment into exotic hyper car revival is starting to pay off big. I just hope that this won't further influence Ferrari making ugly cars. I only hope that the successor of this will look a lot more presentable.

They have to sell it twice the price if the demand is double the production run. That would be its real market value. Lamborghini already did that with Veneno.

How come other automakers struggle coming up with goods designs, but Ferrari never seems to make an ugly car?

One Sheikh in Abu Dhabi - and that's where the real money is, unlike Dubai - has reportedly tried to order 7. Now normally, that's a no go, but he had members of his extended family try and do it. Will see if Ferrari plays ball. But seriously, Ferrari will be able to sell every one it makes.

...Because cars are beautiful and no other sport car producer in the world is legendary as Ferrari is!

But new Ferraris are not beautiful. The badging is what makes these cars attractive to the nouveo riche/gauche riche because if these designs came from some no-name upstart company they'd be panned. Haters gonna hate on the truth, but I'd bet my soul that take the Ferrari badge off and replace it with some fake sounding name from some upstart in say Poland, and see what reaction you get.

For sensei: Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder (as i say in another post) so it can't be the only keypoint. In my eyes this car is beautiful as in yours this car is ugly (the word most frequently used here...). But there is no question: Ferrari is a legendary brand and anyone wants a piece of legend.
