Debuts in Geneva next week

[UPDATE] Chevrolet has released the first two official images with the car.

[UPDATE 2] More official photos added, showing the rear view.

This is the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible as posted on Carfanatic's Instagram account.

At the beginning of last month Chevrolet teased the convertible version of the Stingray, ahead of an official unveiling programmed for March 5 in Geneva. Now, we take a look at the open top Corvette while it's being rolled down a ramp.

Too bad for the car cover as we don't get to see the car's details, but so far it looks good. We'll just have to wait a couple of days until it will be revealed. The first car will be auctioned in April at Barrett-Jackson, with the money going to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.

Power is likely to come from the same 6.2-liter V8 engine with about 450 hp (336 kW) and 609 Nm (450 lb-ft) of torque. It should be slightly slower than the coupe which can do 0-62 mph in less than four seconds.

Still no roll bars? Every other high-performance sports car has them. Guess I'd stick with the coupe, which probably looks better, too. hey e92miami....mid life crises hit closer to 50. FYI. When you get there, you'll know.

I like more than any previous Corvette. I don't get the comment below that drivers will pass on the Vette. This is a very capable car.

Oh I can just see those 60+ year old's loving this. This brings the whole mid life crises to a whole new level. The true driving enthusiasts will pass as they have on the vette since 1969.

Why would they do that? It's a car that offers great performance and looks for a very reasonable price. Most other cars that offer similar figures would end up costing you at least half of the price more.

He says that because the average age of the Corvette buyer is 60.

Unless you have your garage stacked with Ferraris, Lambos and the rest of the supercar gang your comment is off limits.

Are you thinking the vette is a supercar? If so then maybe you should do some research.

good to see what it will look like with the small difference from the coupe. Do like it alot that the first car is being auctioned off for a cancer charity.
