MPVs & Crossovers to take center stage

The Geneva Motor Show is right around the corner and Ford has announced plans to use the event to introduce the Tourneo Courier and the Euro-spec EcoSport.

First up, the Tourneo Courier is a family friendly version of the Transit Connect. It will be based on the company's Global B platform and is slated to go on sale later this year or early next year.

The EcoSport, on the other hand, is a small compact crossover that will slot beneath the Kuga / Escape. Ford hasn't released European specifications but the company's B-car vehicle line director, Nick Collins, previously said the model will "deliver great value, quality and fuel economy."

The EcoSport has been, up to now ,a model sold just in the Latin American market. It is made in Brazil. The older model used to look less controversial, but they wanted this one to look as much possible as the new Escape/Kuga models.

If you think about it, the more angular face of EcoSport with its slim headlights and main grill that follows the same shape as the grills of the 2013 Fusion/Mondeo, facelifted Fiesta, B-Max and Transit/Tourneo models makes it look newer than the 2013 Escape/Kuga.
