Designed to be unique

Radion Design has created some new renderings of their BMW M9.

Designed to be the quintessential performance coupe, the M9 has a distinctive front fascia with LED headlights and a small twin kidney grille. Moving further back, the car has an attractive silhouette with bulging fenders and an upward sweeping character line. The rear end is also unique as it has a wide appearance thanks to slender taillights.

While the car styling won't win everyone over, Radion Design says it wasn't created to have universal appeal. Instead, they embraced a "different philosophy" to create something truly unique.

Having had an E31 and E46 M coupe, this one would definitely make me stick with BMW in the future. This is how I imagine a proper premium GT from BMW. The new 6 coupe doesn't completely cut it for me, there is something just too sterile and technical in its design.

I would love for M6 coupe to have this kind of aggression and sportiness in styling. I'm starting to grow out of M6 styling since its' just a bit too bulky and bulgy looking.

I think they need to change its name from M9 to an even M8 or a not likely M10. As to the new nameing strategy set out by BMW to have odd numbers for sedans and even numbers for coupes. As far as the rendering goes, iI like it as a concept, but will need a little tweeking for a production model.

Overall the rendering looks great! But there is one one problem, M9 (best I understand) is supposed to be M1 successor, which means it should be mid-engined similar to i8. This car looks like a front engined car.

This M9 is not a BMW design, the laser headlights will appear on the i8.

The trademark kidney grille may be shrinking with each new model, but this M9 rendering renders me awestruck with admiration! No flame-surfacing here that's for sure! The future of BMW.

I hope it is the future, part of the reason why I liked BMW's from 90s- early 2000s was because they had small kidney grills that fit proportionally well with the car. Unlike the much bigger and unappealing newer gen BMWs counterparts; look like pig nostrils. Hopefully that will change for all BMW models.

The side profile seems to me a straight copy of the Fisker Karma. Front aint bad looking though.
