Audi A1 Quattro tested by DTM driver Filipe Albuquerque [video]

The four-ringed pocket rocket

Audi has just released a new promotional video which features DTM driver Filipe Albuquerque putting the A1 Quattro through its paces.

Ripping through a snow covered landscape, Albuquerque says "The engine is really nice because if you drive slow, you're going til 3000 [rpm]. It's a linear engine and then it [the turbocharger] kicks in at 3,500 - 4,000 [rpm]." He added, "Four-wheel drive in these conditions, in the snow, is just fantastic. It's great fun."

As we have previously reported, the A1 Quattro is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 256 HP (188 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission which sends power to a quattro all-wheel drive system. This setup enables the hatchback to run from 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 245 km/h (152 mph).

he is the best, did you saw his last stint on DAYTONA 24h last weekend??? He drove R8 Grand-Am version like mad, it was entertaining to watch, unlike a Europian version R8 LMS is has no ABS, no traction control... by the way Audi 1 and 2 at Daytona 24h GT class... incredible racing.... Congrats to Albuquerque and its team... after long winter break on racing calendar, that was simplay amaizing to watch! :)
