Set for Geneva debut

These are official photos with the upcoming 2013 Kia pro_cee'd GT.

Set to debut in March at the Geneva Motor Show along with the hatchback variant, the pro_cee'd GT has already been revealed showing a more aggressive body kit with a new front bumper and bigger air intakes. It also boasts LED headlamps and red accents, while the honeycomb grille sports a "GT" logo. In addition, the hotter version of the pro_cee'd has beefier side skirts, a redesigned rear bumper and a black roof.

Compared to the standard variant, the GT model comes with 18-inch alloy wheels and a lower and stiffer suspension. The front brake discs measure 300x28mm while the ones at the back are 262x10mm with red calipers. Although for now photos of the cabin are not available, the interior gets aluminum pedals, Recaro sport seats and a new trim.

Kia has already confirmed the pro_cee'd GT will be powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged GDI engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Its output is estimated at 200 hp (149 kW) and 265 Nm (195 lb-ft), enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 7.9 seconds.

Set to go into production in mid-May, the 2013 Kia pro_cee'd GT is expected to cost 23,000 GBP. In Greece it should begin from 24,000 - 25,000 EUR.

Oh I forgot Quaife, I paid 1750$ for my dif. Driving characteristics on all cars are determined by OEM suppliers. Not by vw itself, they just have the reputation to be able to sell a hot hatch for 45k, so they can afford to do some shopping for you. But you can just buy all that stuff aftermarket yourself if you decide you really need it. I bet if you spent the price difference between this and a gti on handling and braking it would outhandle a gti.

I love how everyone is comparing this car to cars that cost 10k more and are saying this drives like shit. Last I checked Sachs, ZF, Brembo don't give discounts if you are Korean. So how do you want them to buy you Sachs struts for 2k, a zf dual clutch for 7.5k, and brembo brakes for another 2k and still be cheaper? You think they pay their engineers and buy tooling/machines with rice?

So not really that fast for a 200bhp but im pretty sure in the real world its fast enough. And the way this thing looks and how Kia-dai are going on these days i would walk pass the Focus ST and Golf GTI and have one of these if i have the money.

PSY isn't MC Hammer, but can he move on the dance floor or what?! Yes, performance figures aren't earth-shattering, but who cares when you look at this car?! KIA is pro_cee'ding fast and making new friends and the Germans are watching with real interest. The double-stacked LEDs, sexy headlamps and rear units, Alfa-Romeo style wheels plus a coupe side profile are all surprisingly snazzy touches and, though it pains me to say this, but the Mk7 Golf GTI looks almost dull in comparison! Makes you salivate to see what the dashboard, central console and sports seats would look like. Gangnam Style!

The latest VW Golf with 140hp (60hp less!) accelerates from 0-62mph / 0-100kmh in 8,4secs. "only" half a second slower. The Kia looks good. But isnt as fast as it looks :/

Performance figures isn't what I call impressive. But than again is a Kia, which look awesome. Love that quadruple clustered LED. To me, Kia has always been about looks and value. Too bad the cee'd isn't sold here.
