Hundreds of Chevy dealers could be left out

The new Corvette will be sold only at top Chevy dealers at first, according to a recent report.

The Stingray is expected to arrive in showrooms by late summer but not all of them will have it since General Motors has asked Chevy dealers to meet a sales-volume threshold to become eligible for selling the C7.

Several dealers have told Automotive News that those who failed to sell a minimum of four Vettes last year won't get the new model. This requirement will probably affect hundreds of dealers. As expected, a spokesman for General Motors refused to discuss about the firm's allocation plans.

Rick Hendrick won't have to face this problem since he already paid 1.1M USD to get the first 2014 Chevrolet Corvette.

Is it me or the NEW Corvette looks kinda cheesy...The rear looks weird and fake...like a Camaro knock off.And the front like the Viper and Ferrari... It just look like a Frankenstein monster....sorry

Everybody has a different taste. Although your description s a little bit over-exaggerating, the front does resemble the Viper and rear a bit of Camaro. But personally I think this car looks hot, and that's what this car needed to stand out since previous gen Corvette look was starting to age. I just hope that naming this Corvette "Stingray" and doing this exclusive dealership non-sense is not going to skyrocket its' price.

GM is retarded... pissing off your own dealers and customers isn't going to help you sell more cars. And if I can't buy a Corvette at my nearby dealer, it's not my lost, it's yours GM!

This reminds me of the Fiero fiasco. Anytime GM thinks it has a new hot item it pulls this with its dealerships, charges $100 for a test drive, adds $3000 plus exclusivity add-on then later floods the market with them and pisses off everyone. Real professionalism!

Maybe the lazy dealers will start working harder to sell. Dealers that sell more, likely have not just better surronding demographics (population, ect.), but better service. I really belive that if a person has a good expierence with a dealer on a sale AND service, that person will buy there again.

What is exclusive about this bowtie? Haven't seen it. Hope the rear exterior is not made of plastic like the last one.
