Aston Martin airlifts Vanquish to top of Burj Al Arab hotel [video]

Sitting on helipad at 1,000ft

Aston Martin is continuing its centenary celebrations, this time at the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai.

They airlifted an Aston Martin Vanquish on top of the seven-star, sail-shaped hotel's helipad as an action which tries to showcase Aston Martin as a globally renowned luxury car brand. This is the first time the Vanquish has been placed onto a helipad sitting 1,000ft above the ground.

As a reminder, Aston Martin will be launching Centenary Editions of all its models in the lineup and each will be limited to only 100 units. The first car from the series is the Vanquish which has received a special paint, bespoke badges and minor changes inside the cabin. The Vanquish will be followed by the V8 Vantage, DB9 and Rapide.

Talk about waste of money and resources, Dubai - guess they could find any place closer to home, where the true heritage of AM, say like England. Well guess most of the sales some from dead beats who have way too much money to know what to really do with it.

Wrong building. If they really wanted to make a statement they should have targeted the Burj Kalifa (aka burj Dubai). It's more symbolic, metaphorically speaking, and a bigger structure (middle finger), to let the rest of the world know who's on top.
