Flagship looking promising

A WCF reader from Germany has sent us these photos of a 2013 Mercedes-Benz S-Class prototype.

This is the first time when we get to see the new S-Class this close and we catch a glimpse of its interior cabin. Set to be unveiled later this year, the new flagship model in Mercedes' range will adopt the Aesthetic S design language. Expect to see a sculpted hood, LED-infused headlights, bigger grille, CL-inspired taillights and a dual exhaust setup.

The interior of the new S-Class will boast two large LCDs, one for replacing the analog instruments and the other will be a multifunction touchscreen display to control climate, satellite navigation, communication and entertainment systems.

Under the hood it will get the company's new "MoVe" modular V6 and V8 engines, along with a hybrid version expected to return 71.2 mpg (85.6 mpg UK or 3.3 liters / 100 km) and complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in less than six seconds. The S63 AMG will probably use a twin-turbo V8 5.5-liter engine with more than 550 hp (410 kW) and 590 lb-ft (799 Nm) of torque.

Special thanks to A. for sharing!

You are right. they should have run home to get the filter. Just enough time for the car to be gone.

Dude von Dudenstein
It's without doubt gonna be a good car with lots of cool gizmos, but I don't think I'll like the design of it. Prefer Audi A8, Jaguar XJ and don't think that'll change.

Elegance and class, what a S-class is all about. from the line ,this one has it. But there was a better photo of the interior somewhere showing a somewhat Rolls Royce interior.
