Cadillac could double lineup, launch 1-Series challenger - report
2013 Cadillac ATS 07.5.2012

A variety of models are under consideration

Cadillac's lineup has slowly been expanding thanks to new models such as the ATS and ELR, but a new report is indicating the brand could eventually double their lineup to include as many as ten vehicles.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, two supplier-based sources told Reuters the company is considering a flagship sedan, a small crossover and a BMW 1-Series competitor.

When asked about the possibility of new models, Cadillac's global vice president said "We have the core of a very good product set now and we're working hard at examining the options to make it even better. You can expect a more robust lineup." Bob Ferguson also revealed the product expansion is part of a larger strategy to turn Cadillac into a "truly global luxury brand."

While Ferguson would only confirm the company is considering a small crossover and flagship sedan (possibly called the LTS), another source indicated Cadillac could offer a seven-seat crossover, an ATS coupe and an ATS convertible.

Sorry Cadillac but I don't think you'll ever succeed in Europe... American cars have a bad reputation here... people would rather buy korean than american

If they go FF for the baby Cadillac it will fail. Ask Acura how well FWD is working out in the luxury market.

That's good and all, but in order to truly become a truly global luxury brand, it will all of the aforementioned models proposed above, but first to complete their basic lineup, that Omega RWD/S-Class fighter/XTS successor needs to come first along with convertible/wagon versions of the ATS after the next-gen CTS!
