Audi Quattro RS7 Group B Tribute rendered

Audi Quattro RS7 Group B Tribute

A modern Quattro S1 rally car

Frédric Louis imagined how a Group B Audi RS7 Sportback would look like and came up with these two renders.

Inspired by the recently unveiled 2014 Audi RS7 Sportback, the artist evokes the Group B glory days of the 80s when Audi had the legendary Quattro S1 with its 5-cylinder, 2.1-liter engine. Those were the times when the competition was fierce as Lancia had the Delta S4 while Renault developed the R5 Turbo.

As a reminder, the RS7 makes use of a twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter gasoline engine (taken from the RS6 Avant) producing 560 HP (412 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft). Power is delivered to the quattro system through an 8-speed automatic gearbox which rockets the Sportback to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h) when equipped with the optional Dynamic Plus Package.

Thanks to Pieter for the tip!

errhhh... sory it looks lame... that light tripod makes it awful... besides RS7 is way too big to this purpose.

As much as I love the group B race cars, the RS7 is not fit for this tribute. its more of a luxury Limo than a rally monster, maybe the TT RS or RS5. I am waiting for someone to do a Lancia group B tribute

It's something to think about for the Quattro concept.

I can only see one contemporary car on which this would look good and not "out of place": the Quattro concept (or its production version). Are you reading this Audi?
