Could get 335 HP 2.0-liter turbo

Our spies have grabbed on camera the first shots with the upcoming A-Class-based Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG.

After seeing for several times the regular GLA in various spy photos and a video, today we take a look at the AMG version while undergoing some tests somewhere in Scandinavia. Riding on the MFA platform underpinning the A- and B-Class models, the GLA 45 AMG prototype is showing larger wheels, bigger air intakes and beefier brakes.

Like many other AMG prototypes that are in their early stages of testing, this one has one exhaust per side. The Mercedes CLA 45 AMG is expected to get a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing about 335 HP (246 kW).

The regular version will be out sometime next year in Europe, followed by the United States in 2014. The AMG variant will be launched shortly after.
