A preview concept arriving within a year

Nissan is developing a brand new smaller sports car which will be slotted below the 370Z.

In an interview given to Car & Driver in Detroit at NAIAS, Nissan's vice president Andy Palmer said a new smaller sports car is in the works and will be that type of car "you love it or hate it." He didn't say much else except for the fact a concept previewing the production model will be unveiled within a year.

Sitting beneath the GT-R and the 370Z, this new sports car will not be a Subaru BRZ / Toyota GT 86 / Scion FR-S rival as it will take a more youth-oriented approach much like the Juke. Since Palmer said it will be a "guilt-free" car, we can only assume he meant some form of electrification.

Just like Mazda when it had Franz von Holzhausen design a neat concept like the Kabura, Nissan is got an opportunity here and it really doesn't have to come out the first year with the expensive and hard to quality control electric tech, using the Juke motor would suffice!
