Could debut later this year

The team behind the reimagined Facel Vega has released the first teaser image of the concept's front end.

As you can see, the car will have a retro-inspired front fascia with a prominent grille and two large air intakes. There's also flush-mounted headlights, a bulging hood and a double bubble roof.

There's no word on performance specifications, but the original Vega was powered by a HEMI V8 engine. It remains unclear if history will repeat itself, but it wouldn't be hard to imagine the vehicle being powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 that develops 470 bhp (351 kW) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque.

A posting on the vehicle's Facebook page indicates the Vega could be unveiled later this year, so expect to learn more in the coming months.

Does this mean that the concept might see production after all?!

Not likely. Its more of an ego thing. A person wants to own an IP but to maintain possession of it, they have to show progress toward production. If they do nothing, the IP can fall back into a state of disuse and another dreamer can apply for IP ownership claiming IP abandonment. That's all these releases are.
