Lexus has released one final teaser of the 2014 IS, ahead of a full reveal expected later today.
Design will be inspired from the stunning LF-CC concept showed last year in Paris and will ride on a shortened version of the same platform underpinning the GS. It is expected to adopt a tweaked suspension with stiffer anti-roll bars and softer springs.
It will be sold with a V6 2.5-liter engine producing more than 200 hp (149 kW) along with a larger V6 3.5-liter with 300+ hp (224+ kW). Lexus will offer a hybridized 4-cylinder, 2.5-liter rated at about 240 hp (179 kW). The latter will be mated to a CVT which should enable the 2014 IS to perform the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in about 6.9 seconds, en route to a top speed of 140 mph (225 km/h). This hybrid is estimated to return 60.7 mpg (73 mpg UK or 3.8 liters / 100 km) with CO2 emissions under the 100 g/km mark.
