Function over form ?

SsangYong has slightly revised its Rodius MPV which has a starting price of 15,995 GBP.

The most noticeable change is the addition of a 2.0-liter e-XDi Euro 5-compliant engine capable of developing 155 HP (114 kW) and 360 Nm (265 lb-ft) of torque. It can return 38.7 mpg UK (32.2 mpg US or 7.3 liters / 100 km) in the combined cycle. It's the same engine powering the fairly attractive Korando Sports.

The seven-seater MPV comes as standard with front/rear electric windows, automatic climate control, Kenwood audio system, Bluetooth, along with safety features such as ABS, ESP and EBD.

While the standard variant gets a 6-speed manual gearbox, the ES trim is optionally available with a Mercedes-Benz-made 5-speed T-Tronic automatic transmission. Other added goodies include rear privacy glass, 16-inch alloys, heated leather front seats.

The range-topping EX brings on-demand four-wheel drive system and guarantees a towing capability of 2,000 kg (4,409 lbs). This version has a starting price of 21,995 GBP.

A local car magazine said this car was designed by a famous British designer...one presumes the design was done over a telephone. Hahaha When looking at this thing from behind, it looks like 2 cars smashed into each other.

I once read that this car (sold in South Africa as the "Stavic") was once honored as the "ugliest car ever"....I also read that the old Citroen 2CV was also called the "ugliest car ever"....Now... I think this Rodius is still the fugliest thing ever to be put on 4 wheels!! Take it out of its misery and save planet earth from this ugliness. Isn't there enough depressing things going on already?

I think fixing the styling would bring better sales than a new engine
