Audi RS3 by Sportec sprints to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds [video]
188 mph top speed
Sport Auto's Christian Gebhardt has recently tested an Audi RS3 prepared by Sportec.
The testing occurred at Hockenheim where he got the chance to drive a very powerful version of the 2012 RS3. While the standard output of the 5-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbo engine is 340 HP (250 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft), the version tweaked by the Swiss tuner puts out 470 HP (346 kW) and 625 Nm (461 lb-ft) thanks to a larger Sportec turbocharger, a sports exhaust system and a bigger intercooler.
The Audi RS3 by Sportec rides on a Bilstein suspension with Michelin Sport Cup tires and benefits from a Haldex Performance kit. It also comes with a wider rear fender and the ability to switch drive torque between three modes: Eco, Stock and Race.
Christian was able to do the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 3.8 seconds while 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) took 13.9 seconds. The vehicle should be able to reach a top speed of 188 mph (302 km/h).
