Once again, green activists that probably have never done anything in life want to implement rules at the worst time possible. It is time to do not put more pressure on the industry that is already in bad shape.

Good idea! Stop selling diesel cars... cities will get much more quiet.

Hardly any v12s, less N/A engines, start stop, congestion charges, emission taxes, hybrids, electric cars, etc.... and now the music of a car's soul. Perhaps the world should have ended today.

Seriously? The EU is an economic crisis, many of the countries cannot repay their debts. They had to implement security measures on Greece, forcing the greek citizens to through periods of Austerity. And they want to waste money on bull**** like this which no-one really cares about? And how the **** will reducing the noise output a vehicle makes have ANY impact whatsoever on the environment? I invite anyone in the audience to give me ONE good way it helps the environment. This is why I dislike the European Union, and this is why I'm proud to call myself (in anything automotive) a Conservative. I think the people who are proposing this just want to destroy the Automotive world stone by stone.

most noise comes from tyres not engine.

the crisis doesnt exists like the money(or god). probably the noise will come from the speakers..and tires.:) hope in 7 years to have a majority of electric cars.

Really...? I find the most noise comes from weekend Harley Davidson riders. But fortunately Europe does not have many of those.

This is just plain silly. This is one step closer to a society with zero excitement and brings up the eternal question of what is the meaning of life? Next will be self driving cars being required for any town driving, then highways etc (think iRobot the movie).
