Lincoln MKC coming to Detroit - report
2013 Ford Escape - 16.10.2011

Could be based on the Ford Escape / Kuga

According to a recent report, Lincoln will unveil an entry-level crossover at the North American International Auto Show.

Set to slot beneath the MKX, the model is expected to be based on the Ford Escape / Kuga. Additional information is limited, but the crossover will likely have MKZ-inspired styling with a horizontal grille and full-length taillights.

Engine options remain unconfirmed, but speculation suggests there could be a 1.6-liter EcoBoost with 184 bhp (137 kW) and a 2.0-liter EcoBoost that develops 240 bhp (179 kW) and 270 lb-ft (366 Nm) of torque. Both engines would likely be connected to a six-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.

Regardless of the final details, the model is expected to be launched in 2014.
