Tesla Motors has revealed European pricing information for the Model S.
They will not offer the entry-level 40 kWh variant on the old continent. However, customers can get the electric sedan in either the 60 kWh or 85 kWh variant. The former costs 72,600 EUR, making it about 18,000 EUR (about 23,808 USD) more expensive than it is in the United States because of extra transport costs and import duties. In addition, U.S. buyers benefit from a 7,500 USD tax credit.
The 85 kWh has a starting price of 83,150 EUR, followed by the Model S Performance 85 kWh at 97,550 EUR. There's also the Signature 85 kWh version priced at 101,400 EUR and the flagship Signature Performance 85 kWh at 110,950 EUR.
Tesla Motors will start making right-hand drive models in late 2013 and announce UK prices "four to five months before the start of deliveries."
Those who reserve a vehicle by the end of the year will benefit from a 1,300 GBP discount. To do this a 4,000 GBP deposit is required for the Model S or 30,000 GBP for the Performance variant.
