Debuts at the Tokyo Auto Salon

Abflug has released the first details about their Spiral 86, ahead of its debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January.

Based on the Toyota 86, the coupe has an aggressive body kit with modified bumpers, revised side skirts and a trunk-mounted spoiler. The model also features 19-inch alloy wheels with Yokohama ADVAN Sport tires.

For added performance the 2.0-liter boxer engine has been equipped with an HKS GT supercharger and a sports exhaust system. This enables the enginel to develop 258 HP (190 kW) and 296 Nm (218 lb-ft) of torque - an increase of 58 HP (43 kW) and 91 Nm (67 lb-ft).

Last but not least, the Spiral 86 has Dixcel brakes and a HiperMAX IV GT suspension which includes new shocks and springs.

It's easy to add kilowatts - but to do so reliably without bulking up on weight and losing the essential character of the car, well...no. This low hp number tells me these guys get it.
