BMW M4 Coupe and 4-Series Gran Coupe rendered

BMW M4 Coupe and 4-Series Gran Coupe rendered
BMW M4 Coupe / Bimmerpost.com

Arriving about two years from now

Based on the recently revealed 4-Series Coupe Concept, these two renders show a possible look for the M4 Coupe and 4-Series Gran Coupe.

Artist known as Wildspeed (care of BimmerPost) envisions the new M4 with a 1M/M6-inspired front bumper seen on the M3 (F80) prototypes spied earlier this year. It also gets M sides skirts, wider fenders and a massive hood bulge as noticed in spy shots. Just like on the M6 Coupe, the new M4 could feature a shaped carbon fiber roof and double slatted grille with the "M4" badge.

As for the 4-Series Gran Coupe, this will probably borrow the head/tail lights of the regular 4-Series Coupe. It will also get the same engine lineup as the 3- and 4-Series models and will be priced just like the 6-Series Gran Coupe is positioned in the 5- and 6-Series family.

Check out the source links below for additional renders.

BMW Made a huge mistake by creating a new Segment for the 3 Series Coupe and calling it a 4 Series and M4...this is a huge Mistake considering the Legacy of the 3'er and the M3. And that's not all, China has the biggest market in the world and the one thing that the Chinese are scared off more than Financial Collapse is the number '4' which is pronounced as 'Sei' which also sounds like the word 'Death' in Chinese. If you don't believe me, just try going up an apartment or any skyscraper owned by a Chinese Company...there would be no Fourth (4th) Floor, it would be replaced by 3A or something... yes they fear number 4 more than anything else. What does that tell us...the sales of the 4 Series and M4 in China would be really bad...I hope BMW gets this messages before it's too late...please don't kill the BMW 3 Series Coupe Name and please please retain M3 name for 3'er Coupe Sports.

It is a well known psychological trick: people will simply pay more for something that is called "4" seeing it it is higher than "3". Exactly in line with what Audi have done with their A5. Business-wise it makes sense.

so. let's stop making de 3'er coupe and pretend we make another model, which is in fact the same car with just a little bit different details, the 4'er and to make a genious move, let's make the 4'er with..4 doors. WTF logic?! ofcourse, they will charge more for the 4'er because is different, but in fact is' the same car with just another set of clothes as the 3'er scumbag auto corporations

The 4 series isnt a half-arsed attempt to make a "different model" it IS the new 3 series coupe. However the 5 series coupe has always been called the 6 series so it makes sense to call the 3 series coupe the 4 series. The fact that the gran coupe version has 4 doors is nothing to do with the 4 series name, it just follows in the 4 door coupe trend that is happening right now. The base 4 series is still a 2 door coupe and thus will still directly replace the old 3 series coupe.

TomitaBogdan, you couldn't be more spot on! There saturating the market with the same car. At first I thought they would drop the 3-series coupe and the 4-series would only come with 2-doors, which isn't a bad idea to give it more of it's own identity, but then they slap 2 more doors on it and call it "grand". It looks sooo much better than the current 3-series that it seems almost like a BMW conspiracy to get you to pay more for the same car with different lines... and rest assured that "grand" label will make it more expensive.

@ TomitaBogdan, I guess you have already tested the 4 series, or or you just don't get it ? Audi did the same thing with the A4-A5 and A6-A7. They already charge more for the 3 series coupe and cabriolet, where is the problem ? BMW 3er : sedan, station wagon, GT. Like the 5er. BMW 4er : coupe, cabriolet, Gran Coupe. Like the 6er.
