Audi says their proposed diesel-electric supercar would be the world's best
Could have 700 bhp
New details are starting to emerge about Audi's proposed diesel-electric supercar.
Speaking with Auto Express, quattro GmbH Managing Director Franciscus Van Meel said "If we make this car, it will be the absolute best supercar and completely different in concept to the R8." He also revealed the model would be very innovative and embody the company's motto of Vorsprung Durch Technik.
Previous reports have indicated the car could have a combined output of approximately 700 bhp (522 kW) and 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque. This could enable the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in roughly 3.0 seconds, before hitting a top speed in excess of 322 km/h (200 mph).
Regardless of the final numbers, Van Meel said the car would be better than the upcoming McLaren P1.
