Official announcement coming soon

The first images of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift have leaked.

For the moment we don't have any official technical details, but we get to see the sedan and estate versions of the refreshed E-Class, including interior photos. The revamped model adopts the previously teased one-piece headlight unit replacing the current quad configuration of the outgoing version.

As previously mentioned, this is more than just a simple facelift as there are many design changes. The hood, front and lower grilles have been thoroughly restyled, while at the back the taillights and bumper get a new look.

Engine lineup will probably include the usual units, such as the V6 3.5-liter with 333 hp (248 kW), a turbocharged V8 4.6-liter with 435 hp (324 kW) and a V8 5.5-liter twin-turbo generating 537 hp (400 kW). Mercedes-Benz could also launch a new entry-level model with a Renault-sourced 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter engine producing 156 hp (116 kW).

Full details coming very soon.

Glad I took delivery of the 2013 E Cabriolet! This facelift is like a middle-aged woman getting cosmetic surgery and make-over to look like her daughter. Just looking at the front of the E-Class with the sports/ Avangarde trim you would think it was a B-Class. Fresh it may look...it lacks that mature dignified prescence...then again all current Mercedes are starting to lose that "feel." Every single face-lift (C-Class, GLK, and now this) has been disappointing.

I'm still waiting to mercedes to find a better place to put the radar guided cruis control, and don't ruin the designt of the grille with that ugly black square

Really hard to judge, but I think that this is not one of those facelifts that make me fall in love with by the first glance.

Only a Merc fanboy might defend on this facelifted E. It's a huge step backward and it is hideous! The rounded front doesn't flow with the rest of the car at all and the taillights looks like an Toyota Avalon or something. Then those Lexus-ish fake exhaust pipes... I miss the elegance of the W210 and 211.

Yes, this is a step backward, but W210? Thats one of the ugliest cars ever and its known for its many reliability issues.

Not bad. Looks Kinda like the previous model S Class. People will still respect the E Class, no matter what it looks like!

At first I thought "wow, that's a nice looking e-class", but after comparing pre facelift and facelift, facelift one looks softer and fattet, when pre facelift had that more defined lines, and new grill is so awful. Just look at both, pre facelift and facelift at the same time, you'll see what I mean.

It's ok. Not a big fan of the new rounded shape from BMW and now Mercedes. The current E-class looks better. BMW went with this rounded look on the current 5-Series; didn't really like it but it has grown on me. Not much newness here from Mercedes.

I think it looks great! They got rid of that awkward kink over the rear wheel arches which makes it look much better now

It looks like the older generation S-class W220 (1999, the one with peanut shaped headlights), just with modern LEDs. Is Mercedes Benz serious?

I really like the new front. I was bit of a pessimist when I heard it will lose the almost iconic quad headlights but the new lights are actually very nice. Not sure about the rear lights yet. They remind me of the ones on the GL that are somewhat "BMWish". At first glance the interior seems unchanged but on second look you realize that numerous tiny details have been improved. If there are a few new technology features and engine updates in addition, this facelift should keep the E-Class competitive against its rivals until the successor arrives.

I've never been a fan of the E-class and this will not change that.

Well I really wonder E63 AMG.. Will it contain fog lamps like current one?? I really want fog lights, though it`s just my taste..

i don't like the grille on the red one (i think it has AMG pack), it looks very cheap for E-class. i really love exhausts and taillights. interior is ok but front of the car looks so busy. Was the thick line around the grille necessary?

They should have kept the "Ponton style " curve line above the rear arch. It would have been considered as a classic E class trademark. Just my opinion....

Yet another uninspiring facelift from a brand that is spreading itself thin and showing absolutely NO innovation. I honestly thought it was a new Hyundai or Kia. Maybe the Koreans have become the new innovators and the Germans the followers. Mercedes has LOST its exclusivity.

the brown cars traditional front looks ok, but the red estate has a cheap front that looks like a supermini... I can't see what is the problem with classical elegance.

Are these official images? Even with the iconic double lights being replaced, it is still instantly recongnisable as an E-class... Im the biggest Merc fan, but im not sure about the thick chrome/silver around the grille...

doesnt look good in that main pic but looks good in the red estate pic...i'll reserve full judgement in the metal but looks promising

I didn't like the pre-facelift E-Class, and I don't think I like this one either. From what I can see in these pictures, it still looks dated, but I'll reserve my final judgement when I see it on the streets.
