Official announcement coming soon

The first images of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift have leaked.

For the moment we don't have any official technical details, but we get to see the sedan and estate versions of the refreshed E-Class, including interior photos. The revamped model adopts the previously teased one-piece headlight unit replacing the current quad configuration of the outgoing version.

As previously mentioned, this is more than just a simple facelift as there are many design changes. The hood, front and lower grilles have been thoroughly restyled, while at the back the taillights and bumper get a new look.

Engine lineup will probably include the usual units, such as the V6 3.5-liter with 333 hp (248 kW), a turbocharged V8 4.6-liter with 435 hp (324 kW) and a V8 5.5-liter twin-turbo generating 537 hp (400 kW). Mercedes-Benz could also launch a new entry-level model with a Renault-sourced 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter engine producing 156 hp (116 kW).

Full details coming very soon.

Looks more modern than the current one. I think they really need these major changes to boost up their sale

Mercedes Benz reinventing itself once again... In this case, there was no need for such a facelift, because the previous E-class was awesome. Now it looks like...everything but a Mercedes.

By looking these pictures; I don't like it. I think it's not as refined as the current one; specially that brown exterior color is god-awful. It looks way too heavy and curvy, but as always you have to see it with your own eyes.

The new headlamps make the car look like every other car. The previous headlights made the car more singular as all MB´s have to be.

I looks like a Benz...the E class hasn't always had quad separate headlights. The current styling trend brought them back in 1996. As for styling the problem is everyone from Lexus to Hyundai has copied the styling of the Germans MB & BMW in particular so the impact of their design is lessened. I am sure it will look much better in the flesh but I would have preferred a little more drama/presence in it's styling.

I didn't like the pre-facelift E-Class, and I don't think I like this one either. From what I can see in these pictures, it still looks dated, but I'll reserve my final judgement when I see it on the streets.

Are these official images? Even with the iconic double lights being replaced, it is still instantly recongnisable as an E-class... Im the biggest Merc fan, but im not sure about the thick chrome/silver around the grille...

the brown cars traditional front looks ok, but the red estate has a cheap front that looks like a supermini... I can't see what is the problem with classical elegance.

Yet another uninspiring facelift from a brand that is spreading itself thin and showing absolutely NO innovation. I honestly thought it was a new Hyundai or Kia. Maybe the Koreans have become the new innovators and the Germans the followers. Mercedes has LOST its exclusivity.

They should have kept the "Ponton style " curve line above the rear arch. It would have been considered as a classic E class trademark. Just my opinion....

i don't like the grille on the red one (i think it has AMG pack), it looks very cheap for E-class. i really love exhausts and taillights. interior is ok but front of the car looks so busy. Was the thick line around the grille necessary?
