German tuner ABT has launched its final upgrade program for the Golf VI GTI at the 2012 Essen Motor Show.
The first stage kit of the ABT Volkswagen Golf GTI Last Edition increases output of the 2.0-liter turbo engine from 208 hp (155 kW) to 256 hp (191 kW) via a reprogrammed ECU. Stage 2 adds a turbocharger that lifts power to 306 hp (228 kW).
ABT has also developed a sports suspension for the sixth-gen Golf GTI that lowers the ride height by one inch (25mm), while the Stage 2-equipped version has a new braking system with 345mm discs.
There's also an aerodynamic body kit that includes a front apron, lip spoiler, LED daytime running lights, rear diffuser, side skirts, roof spoiler and a four-pipe exhaust system. It sits on a new set of alloy wheels and has several red splash decals and other accents on the body.
ABT did not reveal pricing information about this upgrade program but they did mention it will come at "special" prices.
