Our good friend Michael has sent us a batch of photos with the upcoming Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG which he made near Augsburg, Germany.
These are the most revealing shots of the car yet, showing that large front grille which seems to look a lot like the one on the Concept A-Class. This grille is interesting to say the least as it consists of numerous "dots" on black stems. We also notice the more aggressive front fascia, aerodynamic side skirts, dual exhaust, trunk-mounted spoiler, high-performance brakes and typical double five-spoke AMG alloys.
As previously reported, the CLA 45 AMG is expected to get a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine generating 335 HP (246 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. It will be mated to a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox sending the power to all four wheels. 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) should take five seconds, en route to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
The Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG has been confirmed to make its debut next September at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
