Targeting 1,000 kg curb weight

Audi's development boss says that a more hardcore TT GT3 version is in the works.

Talking to Autocar, Wolfgang Durheimer mentioned that a "multi-material" version of the next-gen TT is in development at Ingolstadt. They are targeting a 1,000 kg (2,204 lbs) curb weight with an all-wheel drive system, roll cage and five-cylinder engine.

Based on the MQB architecture, the TT GT3 will use carbon fiber, steel and aluminum in its construction. Audi's management team will decide in the next few weeks if this model will actually reach production phase.
