According to a senior exec

A Toyota senior executive declared that next year the company will launch two brands exclusive for China.

Two Chinese joint ventures will be launched in 2013, but Toyota's senior manager officer Hiroji Onishi did not specify which of the two ventures will introduce its China-only brand first. At the moment, Toyota is building cars in China in collaboration with FAW Group and Guangzhou Automobile Group Co.

Some of the other automakers that have brands exclusive for the Chinese market include rivals Nissan and Honda. The former announced today that they will launch in 2015 an electric car for its local Venucia brand. Nissan already has two entry-level Venucia models that are built in partnership with Dongfeng Motor.

Knowing Chinese history, there is a lot of sweet irony in seeing the rise of China over the current established empires.

They best resolve their island dispute first or else they will be "re-decorating" their showrooms quite often.
