Has an A-Class inspired front fascia

Thanks to a little bit of luck and a telephoto lens our spies have been able to catch some revealing new pictures of the 2014 Mercedes C-Class.

Starting with the exterior, the model gains an A-Class inspired front fascia with a prominent grille, sweptback headlights and a sporty lower intake. Additional details are hard to make out but the rear end appears to have an evolutionary design with rounded surfaces.

The car's dashboard is partially covered, but we can see the cabin will adopt higher quality materials and more curved surfaces. Notable highlights include circular air vents, metallic accents and a new COMAND controller. There's also an S-Class inspired center stack which resides under a large infotainment display.

Engine options remain unconfirmed, but we wouldn't be surprised if the model adopts several of the four-cylinder units that are offered in the A- and B-Class. There have also been rumors of a three-cylinder variant as well as a hybrid that could use an electric motor which produces approximately 27 PS (20 kW / 27 hp).

i hope the engines don't sound gruff and noisey, i hope the air-conditioner motors don't break, i hope the led readouts don't fade, i hope the door handles don't break, i hope the fuel consumption isn't horrendous for no performance at all, i hope there will be less brittle plastics around the seats..... because i want to love this car

If the length and width stays the same, the New Merc C-Class will be less desirable with people opting for the New BMW 3-Series instead, as nobody who buys a C-Class wants the car to look or have the same features as the low A-Class.

I hope the information about the front fascia being inspired from A Class turns out wrong. I think the A Class is beautiful, but it's CLA that should look like A Class not C. The C Class should have its own unique design, or maybe E Class inspired design. But still, however it turns out, I think it's going to be a nice one.
