Lamborghini Gallardo Italian police car hits the track [video]

To protect and serve

A Lamborghini Gallardo belonging to Italian police has been filmed on track.

YouTube user Marchettino has recorded this footage of the Gallardo police car that was donated by the Italian carmaker. This vehicle is used by the local authorities to patrol the highway and for high-speed transport of human organs. The only modifications made to the car - aside from the police trim and lights - are a defibrillator and a special computer that police cars require.

It must have been the Gallardo’s day off as in this video we see it doing a series of accelerations and slides, with the driver showing off that he’s got some skills behind the wheel.

As an italian tax payer, I'm very happy seeing were my money gets spent.... This thing is unacceptable for a country that is in serious economical problems due to uncontrolled expenses ( of politics) and high costs of public administration. Plus every year they reduce the number and the salary of cops, because they have to show off in thier Lamborghinis, and Loutus cars. immagine hovw effective the organ transport might be with the traffic there is here in Italy! I've seen it only during parades and cruising in traffic!Don't get me wrong, I really like the car, but its for wealthy people that pay their own expenses, not for who doesen't even pay fuel, wich I pay 1.8 € a liter!

From my knowledge, the car was donated by Lamborghini. If not, you are totally right.

Didn't Lamborghini donate this car to the police. They recently also donated the huracan to them as well.

The only place where one can be speeding with a cop tailing you having it's lights flashing and not get a ticket in the process!

since the car has only 2 seats (and probably a small trunk), what happens if they want to make an arrest...?

Yeah, because that's what the Italian Police does: it takes its supercar to a trackday.
