2014 Chevrolet Corvette pops up in Gran Turismo 5 [video]

An official tie-in?

Gran Turismo 5 has been heralded as one of the greatest video games for car enthusiasts, but now there's word that the famous franchise has managed to slip in a camouflaged version of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette.

The car clearly resembles previous spy photos, so it remains unclear if this is an official tie-in or designers just having a little bit of fun. Regardless, we wouldn't be surprised if a production intent Corvette was eventually included in a future update.

As we have previously reported, the 2014 Corvette will debut at the North American International Auto Show. It will feature an evolutionary design which adopts angular surfaces and a four-tailpipe exhaust system. Power will be provided by a new 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine that produces approximately 450 bhp (336 kW) and 450 lb-ft (609 Nm) of torque. It should enable the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than four seconds and return 26+ mpg highway (US).

This is brilliant, but I'd rather wait for the uncovered model to come out as DLC.

Can Chev be more original. This is such a copy of when the R35 was introduced. Nissan used the GT series to release the first view to the public via the game. Take about no imagination, wait should have guess since the vette designs have no imagination since ever car they produced looks more or less the same.

so does Porsche, if they give you one, don't accept it. Besides, Chevy wasn't behind this, it is not a marketing approach.
